Configure Units of Measure for Manufacturing

Units of Measure

Units of Measure (UOM) represent the measurement units used to define items in your system, such as pounds, each, 50LB/case, etc. These measurements help ensure accuracy in inventory management, sales, purchasing, and manufacturing.

Unit of Measure Fields:

Field Name

Explanation

Name

The Name of the Unit of Measure

Type

Defines the type of unit for the item, such as Length, Area, Volume, Weight, Time, Piece, Packing, Batch, or Other.

Item Units of Measure

The Item Units of Measure section is where you define the specific UOMs used for a particular item.

  • For Standard Manufactured Items, the UOM is typically a Packing Unit of Measure (e.g., Case, Each).

  • For Batch Manufactured Items, the UOM must be a Batch Unit of Measure.

Item Units of Measure Fields:

Explanation

Name

The Name of the Item Unit of Measure

Item

The specific item for which you are defining the Unit of Measure.

Unit of Measure

The UOM you want to assign to the item (e.g., Each, Case, Batch).

Conversion

Defines the conversion rate between the selected UOM and the Base Unit of Measure. This represents how many base units are within one UOM.
