Inventory Quantity Resync

Overview

Once in a while, you might have Items with the following issues:

  • Qty. Base on Hand != Remaining Qty. Base on Hand.

  • Qty. Base on Hand != Qty. Base on Bin Content

These issues could be caused by rounding or a few bad transactions. You can use the Inventory Resync routine to correct them.

Procedures

First, navigate to the Items list → xDIF Quantities view to see how many items are having these issues. You can try to look into Item Ledger Entries for these items to look for patterns and root causes.

If you have a lot of Item Ledger Entries, it might be more cost-effective to use the Inventory Resync routine to bring the three fields (Qty. Base on Hand, Remaining Qty. Base on Hand, Qty. Base on Bin Content) into balance:

Navigate to the Inventory Resync tab. Click the Quantity Resync view.

Then, click the Calculate Inventory Resync button.

You can select an item to calculate Inventory Resync or leave the Item field blank to calculate for all Inventory items that meet the criteria.

GoldFinch will compare Qty. Base on Hand and Remaining Qty. Base on Hand and suggest adjustment entries to bring Remaining Qty. Base on Hand to be the same as Qty. Base on Hand by Item, Warehouse, Lot No, and Serial No.

Then, GoldFinch will also compare Qty. Base on Hand and Qty. Base on Bin Content and suggest adjustment entries to bring Qty. Base on Hand to be the same as Qty. Base on Bin Content by Item, Warehouse, Lot No, and Serial No.

Select entries that you want to post. Click Post Inventory Resync. GoldFinch will insert additional Item Ledger Entries to fix the inventory quantities.

Navigate to the Items list → xDIF Quantity view. You should see 0 items on the list.
