How Numbering Series Work
The following is the configuration of the Numbering Series function in GoldFinch:
Numbers are established by defining a Prefix, Separator, and Number.
The administrator has permission to update the numbering series. On updating the numbering series, any new entries created for the respective table will use the new numbering setup.
The Prefix and Separator are optional. The Last Number Used is mandatory. GoldFinch will then continue to use the Last Number Used data incremented by one for each new record created.
You can manually enter numbers for an object by selecting Manual No. check box. This is enabled only for Purchase Order and Promotion Calendar objects.
Consider the following example, where the Order Number starts with the number PO-1000242 when new Purchase Orders are created.
