Configure Formula Versions and Item Formulas for Batch Manufacturing

Formula Versions

If you require controlling the dates to use a formula or using Percentage as the Formula Management, create a Formula Version for each version.

Formula Versions can be created, viewed, or edited from the Parent Item.  

Item Formulas

Item Formulas are the ingredients that are used to create the parent item.

One Item Formula is defined for each ingredient used to create a parent item. You can create Item Formulas directly from the parent item or the Formula Version.  

At a minimum, you must enter Component, Unit of Measure, and Per for each ingredient.

Other fields are optional.

Formula Unit of Measure Consideration

You can define a Unit of Measure for your formula. For example, you may have a manufactured item in both EACH and CASE. 

When configuring a formula for a Batch Manufactured Item, the ingredients' formula is based on the Default Batch Unit of Measure defined on the Item card. 

If the Formula Management is Percentage, the ingredients' total Per (percentage) must be 100%.
